Really smoky today. Usually our wind comes from the West and the ocean, but that last couple of day there has been an East wind. Because it's so dry this is concern about wild fires in the Cascades so the power company has shut down some of it's lines and some are without power. Some of the schools that were in the power outage area closed on Friday. Broken sparking power lines were responsible for some of the terrible fires we had a couple of years ago.
Jim and I joined the car line at the county fairgrounds this afternoon to get another Covid booster shot. Hopefully, this one will be good for a year. It was a very long wait, but it I will have better protection against Covid, I don't mind.
Ginny, I actually did build my roof in the block as you mentioned...in layers starting from the bottom. I have taken a couple of pictures and I'll send them to Teresa so you can see.
My very first WW leader always said that Maintenance would be a challenge. And she was right! I have had many challenges and a few gains that I didn't want, but I was determined NEVER, EVER to gain back all the weight I lost. Looking back, I have made adjustments in my life. I guess one example is that I now have a regular exercise routine. Even though exercise will never be my favorite thing, it's now part of my life. I think I have chosen a goal weight that I can manage. And every month that I stay at goal or with my two pound allowance, I gain more confidence.
My daughter, Kylee, and grandson, Logan arrive on Wednesday, and I am really looking forward to seeing them. They will be here for a week, but there's lots going on with the wedding and I know they will be visiting friends and Logan's dad's family. I finally was asked to do something for the wedding. I'm going to iron the groomsmen's shirts. I'm just happy to have a job.
Went to my grandson Logan's football game. The weather (except for the mild smoke) was great, but the game was not for our team. The final score was 45-0. Logan did play a good game, but the team just couldn't get over the goal line.
Time to go water my plants. Because of the smoke it didn't get into the 90s, but the wind dried things out.
Take care, Judy
