Starting a new thread.
My pulmonolgist appt went okay I guess, he was nice but he was hispanic with a very heavy accent so it was hard to understand exactly what he was saying. When he walked in the room he didnt say who he was he just handed me his name badge haha. He wasnt real personal and when the appt was over I wasnt sure it was because he just walked out of the room, no bye no anything. He did try to help me get my sildenafil covered by insurance, not sure if it is going to work. Insurance has not covered that medicine but the good rx card has been able to get it down to a reasonable price up until now. This time with the good rx coupon it was $755. I just cried.

Wow! Kathy was a bunch of "stuff" to deal with. Hope when you got to B.C. everything went/goes well.
I actually think, Teresa, there ought to be classes for doctors on how to work with patients. Sometimes it seems that the more exalted the doctor's specialty is the more he lacks in patient communication.
I have been slammed this week getting ready for my class today and preparing for the tour tomorrow.

I hope the link above will take you to the wedding video. After watching the video I copied the link, and didn't check the link. When Jim watched it he said it didn't seem like the end was part of the film. The end of the video I saw was people acting stupid/having fun?, but the main part is fun. We weren't there for all the shenanigans on the dance floor. I never asked how long it all lasted.
Take care, Judy

It’s Saturday night. Been to a Powwow. Volunteered. Had a great time. Took lots of pictures. Went to Fisherman‘s Wharf. Bought fresh salmon to cook. Dinner was delicious! Steve cooked it in a cedar plank in the oven, the BBQwaa out of gas. Went to a show with Laura saw The Good House. Today we had lunch with my cousin and his son . Then went to a farmers market and bought some earrings and supposedly some lip balm that’s suppose to moisten your lips. Had vegan dinner which was delicious. Been a busy day. Tomorrow is Malabar Skywalk then meeting my sister for lunch. Then off to Nanaimo. In the afternoon we’re going to Drum Circle presentation. Should be interesting!
Have done a lot of walking. Am so glad I brought my hiking boots The weather has been quite hot. A jacket is needed when the sun goes down.
Hope everyone is well!

Teresa, I think everyone did have a good time.
Kathy, it sounds as if you are having a wonderful time. I haven't been to a Pow Wow in a very long time. I always found them interesting and enjoyable.
Saturday was weigh in for me and I stayed within the parameters of my goal, always a win for me. Maintaining is truly a challenge. On Saturday after a stressful week of preparing for my first class and the cemetery tour. I decided to celebrate a successful cemetery tour get a pizza. I had been thinking about pizza and hadn't had any in ages. It turns out there is a reason for that. Pizza is definitely my trigger food. I ate way too much pizza, and I won't be having it again for very long time.
In just two weeks I will be going to Arizona to visit my daughter and we are finally going to get to go to Santa Fe, I've been waiting over 50 years to go there. I've tried three time and the last time I was foiled by a pandemic. Now I'm hoping that this time will be the charm and it will actually happen. While we are in Santa Fe my sister, Erin and her husband, Michael, who are celebrating their anniversary are coming from Colorado and we'll have dinner. Erin came to Bridget and Jacob's wedding, but I haven't seen Michael for a very long time.
That's my news for now. I need to clean up the kitchen and get ready for tomorrow. Take care and I hope everyone has a great week.

So apparently, POD, also stands for pharmacist on duty. Couldnt help but giggle when I heard that.
I have an echo this morning. I slept horrible last night and for the last two weeks I cant get a good seal on my bipap and I can feel it. My portabe oxygen concentrator has decided to only work for 5 minutes every two hours, I dont use it any more but I cant breathe when at an incline so I am just hoping today goes smooth and that heart was not damaged by the asv they put me on and that is shows even more improvement from last time. Last time was pretty darn good.

The days are getting nippier, even though it warms up in the afternoon, the mornings are brisk. I have kept up my "hill climb" and feel like it's doing me some good although my reason for starting was hopefully to help my balance. That hasn't happened, but I definitely am feeling as if I have more stamina.
On Saturday I am flying to Arizona to visit my daughter Kylee. We are both really excited about the visit. The following weekend we are going to Santa Fe, and after looking at my nephew Dafyd's list of things to do, I think I'll be glad I have the extra stamina.
Hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to check in before I leave. I hope to be able to post while I'm gone, but just in case. I'll be home October 27th.
Take care, Judy

Was in Nanaimo for 6 nights. We did a lot of things but very low key. Very glad I brought my Hiking Boots. My sister & I were driving to Parksville and the traffic was backed up. It was double lane. Turned out that a semi missed a turn and went through a fence and hit a house. The people who lived there had just left the house for the day. It never should the damage to the house but it took them a couple of days to remove the truck and load. It was down an incline. We went to the Real Canadian Superstore to buy a BBQ chicken for dinner and they were out so we each got a coupon for a free chicken. We went the next day and got more coupons as they still didn't have any. When we went there later in the week we got 2 chickens, she used her membership card and got $.65 in change. The cashier said that was what she got and that's what the till said to give her. I wonder if she's used the other coupons and got any cash in return. I'll have to asker the next time we chat. We went to Goats on the Roof in Coombs and I got some Rhubarb & Ginger jam that I had got last year. This time I bought 4 jars and I also bought some Cranberry Mustard. We all went to a Dinner Theater show. The show was about the first Women's Hockey Team in Canada. It was in the 1930's and 1940's. Very well done. Walked along the inlets and saw some beautiful scenery. Didn't see any whales but saw some otters. When I got to the airport for my noon flight I had checked in and went to the lounge and they announced that the plane wasn't going to leave to 3:45 so I called my sister and they turned around, came and got me and we went for a walk along the wharf. Saw some starfish and some crabs. Also so a beautiful navy sailboat the probably cost close to a $million . Had coffee and we went back to the airport. They said they weren't coming back, with a big laugh. Sure was an inconvenience to everyone. I cooked a Turducken for Thanksgiving Dinner, gravy, mashed potatoes, yams, corn, pickles, stuffing and apple crisp. Dinner was delicious ! The box said it would feed about people. Vicky & George took leftovers and their son too. Still lots of food. Went to work on Tuesday and had 32 hours and by Saturday worked 40 hours. Today I did some laundry and dishes and didn't go out at all. I looked at going for a walk and that's all it was.
Teresa hope your Dr's appointment went well!
Hugs Kathy

Its Saturday. The weather has turned cold! woke up to SNOW! My phone is saying 0 C which is 32 F. Snow on the roads and on the lawns. I didn't get the cover on the BBQ so will have to watch the weather so I can do that. Need to turn the water outlets off too. Roll up the hose and possibly cut some of the dead foliage down. Tomorrow is suppose to be warmer so maybe there's a chance. Got my Flu shot yesterday. I put my name on a list before I went on holidays and never heard anything. Supposedly the Flu shot I got was for Seniors'. Didn't get any paper work or anything will have to ask the next time I'm at work. Supposedly have a coffee date at 10 a on the other side of town. About a 20 minute drive or longer depending on traffic and weather will have to google it to make sure. There's a supermarket, which I have nothing but complaints about next door. I do need some creamer and one never knows what's on special! I have now travelled approximately 8,000 km since I bought my vehicle. Now to decide where to go for my free oil change from the Nissan dealer. There isn't one close so will have to look to see which one has some perks. My tires don't get changed til Nov 5. I go to the UID clinic to see about the problems that I've had for almost a year. Can't get into the Pelvic Floor Clinic without a referral since it's been 2 years since I was there. So will see the Doctors at the clinic and see what they are going to tell me. Probably need something done with my Bladder which I'm okay with. Better to get it done when young then when ancient . Only problem is that the PFL clinic says it takes 24 months waiting list. I'm sure there's an easier way. My sister said she will fly to Calgary to look after me if I get it done. Since one needs someone to drive one home from the hospital and administer the possible course of drugs.
Anything interesting happening South of the Border?
Hugs Kathy

I got back Thursday afternoon, and so far all I've been doing is catching up. I had class on Friday and for the second time got locked out of the church. However, I arrived early enough that I was able to get the church opened and we were only about 5 minutes late. I'm pretty sure the church just got the dates mixed up, but I plan to see about getting a key. My trip was wonderful, and the weather was great in both Arizona and New Mexico. Kylee and I spent two days going to the Saguaro National Park. Now I know a lot about cacti. Saguaros are cacti that look like they have arms. What I found astounding was that the arms don't even begin to grow until they are around 100 years old. I also really like the Teddy Bear Cholla cactus. Sadly, it's "fur" is not very soft. While we couldn't go see the airplane boneyard...I call it the airplane graveyard or cemetery. We were able to look over the fence and see a small section of the larger planes. I pretty much what I saw...lots of airplain tails! And, I finally got to go to Santa Fe. I loved my visit although the altitude didn't like me much. We went to museums, the Saturday markets, the plaza, many wonderful restaurants, and, of course, a cemetery. We stayed with my nephew Dafyd and his wife Yolanda. They were great hosts, and so knowledgeable about Santa Fe. In spite all the things we saw, there is still much to see so I hope maybe we can go again sometime. Kylee and I went to the Gaslight Dinner Theater, too. They were doing a spoof on Lord of the Rings which they called Wizard of the Rings. Neither Kylee or I are Lord of the Rings fans so we read a little about the story line of the book before we went. It was funny. There was lots of singing and some REALLY BAD JOKES, that were pretty much so bad they were funny. One of their future productions is a take off on Harry Potter, entitled, Henry Porter. I was sure I gained about 10 lbs with all the food I was consuming, but happily it turned out to be only five. However, I'm not sure if I'll lose enough in the next week to be within my WW goals requirements. So close...but still so far away. Since I couldn't include photos, you can google Saguaro cactus and Teddy Bear Cholla cactus to see photos, and be sure to do the same for Davis Monthan Airplane Boneyard. The photos of the boneyard are impressive. So many planes all lined up with precision. Well, guess I'd better close. Did anyone do anything special for Halloween? All I did was continue to "catch up". Take care, Judy

Winter has arrived here! Tuesday they were forecasting 30cm of snow. woke up to snow falling and it was a mixture of wet and powder. It was slippery in spots but with care the roads weren't that bad. Of course lots of people were late and many phoned in that they weren't coming in. The usual person phoned in. She only works a couple of hours but she always has some excuse for not coming in when it snows. I filled up my tank and I think I got a deal on gas. In my neighborhood gas is $1.63 per litre and I paid $1.51/ litre when I was passing a station on my way home from getting my oil changed. When one multiplies the price by 4 it's over $6.05 a gallon with out adding the exchange rate. Doesn't matter which way one looks at it Gas is expensive. The crew finally came and cleared the snow at the condo. I had lots of snow on the driveway and I just drove through it. If it had caused me problems then I would of got out and shoveled it but since it didn't I just left it. So nice to look out the window and see someone else shoveling the snow while I'm nice and warm drinking a coffee. My cousins are leaving for Mexico on Sunday. They aren't coming back til sometime in March or April. I have to get together and decide when I'm going to book my flights to Mexico in February or early March. I'm going to go for at least a week. They book a 2 bedroom with a kitchen so I don't have to pay for hotel. Have another great niece coming in March. My youngest niece's son are having the baby. They announced on Facebook that it's a girl! Didn't go for coffee as it had snowed.
My computer is saying it's 23F and cloudy.
I have Friday off and it's Chore Day. Then work on Saturday and back to work on Sunday. We are having a major visit at the store next week. Everyone will be stressed out as the place has to be perfect! There will be people from other stores and specialist managers doing their thing. My boss gets back from holidays on Monday and she will be stressed out with everything as she hasn't been here for over 2 weeks. Her luggage was misplaced and they finally located and she had already left her original hotel so I believe they sent her luggage back to Canada. Don't really know the details but they ended up buying clothes and something to put the clothes in so they could come back. Her plane was delayed in Toronto and I believe they had to go through Montreal and then their was a delay there. I believe she finally made it back here.
Hope everyone is well!
Hugs Kathy

Weighed in this morning at WW and managed to squeak by for another month. I was worried, but I'd worked so hard after I returned from trip, and it paid off.
We "fall" back this evening. It will be nice to have the world lighter in the morning. I will admit I'll be glad when we can finally stay at one time, but I wish it would be standard time and not daylight.
My busy week came to an end, and I managed to do everything I was supposed to, but I'm glad my schedule for the rest of the month is much more relaxed.
Teresa, I'm sorry it's getting so cold where you are. It's definitely fall here, but not as cold as you are experiencing. And, Kathy, is it usual to have snow so early. It seems like your area got off to an early start.
Just thought I'd check in. Hope everyone is doing well, take care, Judy

Hi, we are cold. Yesterday it was cold and snowed off and on all day. We didnt go play yesterday. Today was nicer and we did get to play today for quite a while.
My sister sent me a pair of nice winter boots, Bear Paws I think is what they are called. She also sent me a wonderful columbia winter jacket, its long and keeps me warm, it is a littlebig but I can layer underneath itI want to. So nice to have, I have not had an actual winter coat in years and years.
I have really been into blending soups lately. Especially with beets, it makes the soups so pretty and fancy looking. I finally realized i am kind of making baby food haha.
I got summoned for Grand Jury duty, I am trying to be excused, it is from Dec 12 to Jan 6 in Bend,I dont want to be driving that in the winter. I have been summoned for jury duty before but never grand jury duty. I would like to do it but not in the winter and plus, the meds I take require frequent bathroom visits.
Judy, is the next spring forward time change going to be our last?

Teresa, I hope that this year will be the last time change year, but I honestly don't know. I wish I knew why the "great thinkers" settled on daylight. Most scientist agree that standard time would be better and more in tune with our body "clocks", but those politicians never seem to do anything that makes sense when it come to changes such as this one. Oddly, I have more trouble "falling back" to standard time than "springing forward". I actually like the light in the morning so I would prefer staying on standard time. I found out that the reason Arizona does not go on daylight time is because in the morning it's cooler and it's nice if it's light. They could give a rip about light evening because once the day heats up it can be miserable outside.
What great additions to your wardrobe. I'll bet the coat and the boots make a big difference now that's it's colder. Remember to wear a hat (yes, Mom ) because one loses a lot of heat through their head. (Actually, my mother is the one that use to remind me of this.)
Grand Jury does sound interesting, but I hope you can be excused since it's winter, and the drive to Bend would not be fun.
We are having cold weather, too. The nights are below freezing and after foggy mornings the sun usually comes out. So far we've had little rain for several days and the forecast is no rain for the rest of the week. Of course, these are the same folks that said it was "cloudy" when the snow was coming down for hours.
I haven't gotten much done lately except what really has to be done. I'm hoping to get back some of my desire to get to some of my projects. Today, I sewed a binding on a small wall hanging and now I'm doing the handwork. I enjoy that and it will be fun to get this quilt finished. It's been around for a long time, and "finished" would be a very nice thing to say about it.
Guess I'd better close for now. Still some things to do before I go to bed.
Take care, Judy
