As usual I ate way to much at our Thanksgiving dinner, but it was delicious. Now I'm back on track trying to see if I can be within goal limits when I weigh in at WW on Saturday.
This year our Christmas will be different because we are celebrating on Christmas Eve so I imagine we will have a very quiet Christmas Day. And, before our celebration, I have make two Christmas stockings. I finally have the material for both stockings so I need to get busy. Every time I make stocking I think it will be my last, and then someone asks me to make one. I finally got smart a few years ago and now I keep all the Christmas stocking makings in one container. I also don't have to borrow a stocking to remind myself of the steps because one year I made a stocking for my son-in-law and it was in the high school colors of the rival school. I made him another one in Oregon State (where he went to college) colors and kept the "mistake" for my sample.
We drew names this year for gift giving, again something different from other years, so I have fewer presents to worry about. Fortunately, everyone had to do a wish list otherwise I think all of the gifts would have been gift cards.
Still have two more classes to teach, but my Tuesday evening class is over until January. I'm glad to have a break.
Winter has returned, cold temps and rain. Our power has gone out twice for several hours each time in the last few weeks. Tonight strong winds are predicted and I hope we don't have another power outage. When the electricity is off we have no heat and no water since the pump needs electricity. It is not only uncomfortable, it's annoying.
Kathy your trips sound wonderful. I really enjoyed the trip I took to Alaska. It was part cruise and part land. Alaska is a beautiful state.
Time to close, take care, Judy

I finally had a day when I felt like I didn't procrastinate. Since I got back from Arizona I just haven't felt very energetic. It's not been physical, but a state of mind. I decided that today that was going to change, and it was a good day. When I weighed in yesterday I was 1.4 lbs. over my goal, so I pay this month. I wasn't really upset, but I did one of my "last supper" days where I just kept searching and searching for something. I never found it, but I definitely overate. Today was MUCH better.
My Christmas stockings project has been moving slowly.. Today, I finally got serious about working on them. I'll spend more time on the stockings tomorrow. It seems like I make one or two stockings a year and it's just a long enough time that I have to figure out the pattern again. I also hemmed my daughter's pants. She will be happy to know they are done.
Teresa, I'm sorry to hear you have snow although I know we really it for the snow pack. We have been having temps in the 30s and several days where it was very icy. We did get a couple of days of rain which resulted in icy walking and driving conditions.
That's it for now, time to get ready for bed. I keep hoping someone will post. Hope you are all doing well. Best wished and take care, Judy

Hi, I am here just freezing. I really dislike this weather. I had to go to the store the other day, just about got stuck at a stop sign, got through that and I was going down the road and this big pick up pulling a trailer comes up to a stop sign on a side road, I notice his tires have stopped but he hasnt. I know I cant stop and he is going to hit me. Bless my little cars heart, I stepped the gas and zipped right past him. Swishing a bit when I did. I was glad when I got back home.
A few days ago I baked cookies for my dog. I got them put away, washed the cookies sheets and they were drying on the counter. I go in my bathroom and am getting dressed. I hear Brody in my bedroom and he says thank you, I asked for what and he said for the cookies. I was quiet for a minute and then I admitted I didnt bake him cookies, I baked Chibs cookies. I felt like a jerk so guess what I did? I baked Brody cookies.
Property taxes went up for me this year, they were way more than I expected, so we are having a pretend christmas this year, I think haha. I just dont understand property taxes on something that is not on my property and is not even considered real property.
We went and played today and I stayed too long, my poor dog got really cold. I had to cover him in blankets when we came home. He stayed covered up for a couple of hours.
NOthing exciting going on in my world.

I guess it's a good thing I have a deadline, or I would still be thinking about making the two Christmas stockings I was asked to make. After a VERY slow start I finally am making progress. I always have to rethink how to do it because I don't make a stocking very often. This time I taking photos and making notes. Maybe that will make the next time easier than it has been in the past. I was thinking how long I've been making these stockings and I think I made my first one for my oldest grandchild and that was 26 years ago. I don't even know some of the people I made stockings for, they usually were the current girlfriend or boyfriend of grandchild. I really like the fabric I chose this time.
My Write Your Life Story class ended on Friday. It was a good term--lots of interesting stories. We start again in January, which seems far away, but really isn't. My personal writing class ended a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying having Tuesday evenings back.
Our Christmas celebration will be a bit different this year. We are getting together on Christmas Eve because my daughter, Bryn, who hosts the get together is leaving on Christmas vacation with her friend on Christmas Day. It seems as if there are lots of changes as we get older and our "littles" are little no more.
Hope you are enjoying the holiday season. I have gotten a lot of my "shopping" done, but I still have things to do. I may need those 12 Days of Christmas (that begin on Christmas Day) to finish everything. However, the stockings definitely have to be done BEFORE Christmas Day.
Take care, Judy

We are dumping snow, it is piling up.I knew I should have went to the store yesterday. I hate it, I hate being trapped and I hate that if I do try to go somewhere I will get stuck or whatever.
Not much going on around here other than cold and snow.
Last spring, I met a Lady at the church. She was there with her dog named Jax, She said he was named after a sons of anarchy character and I was wow, so is my dog Chibs. So we became friendly after that when we ran into each other at the church. One day she asks if I would like to get together with our dogs at cline falls or a walk and I was like sure. So we exchanged numbers. We never got together or called each other, I then started to see a different side of her personality and realized she is probably not a good potential friend. No problem, until it was. She started calling me continually, sometimes she drunk when she calls, She is being evicted and was trying to find a place to stay and she kept hinting for me to volunteer my home. Never going to happen, then she starts trying to find out where I live, never going to tell her. I have finally blocked her. I didnt see that coming and maybe I should have, maybe I was too desperate for a friend to hang out with.
We lost power for a bit, I wasnt sure my post would save but it did.
Have a great Sunday and be safe. I will be over her complaining about the snow.

It's Sunday and I am trying to get the recyclables out the door. I have been trying all week but somehow they don't help by getting in my vehicle.
I got really cold at work on Monday and have been cold all week. Thursday my throat started to hurt and I just felt rotten. Since we don't have any "normal cold medicines" available I bought ST Francis Sinafect. Its a sinus support and suppose to help ease sinusitis, cough & colds. I took it 2x's on Thursday. I had chest pains. To relieve them I drank Ginger ale. It relieved the pressure in my chest. Haven't taken anymore. I had to pick up something that I ordered on line at Rexall Drugs so I went in there and they had 2 different types of Cold Pills so the Pharmacist said to buy Tylenol Cold extra Strength. 24 daytime and 16 nighttime pills. My slight fever is lower and my aches have become the norm which isn't bad. My throat doesn't hurt and my head doesn't ache. I have a dry cough and my nose kind of runs. So I guess it's doing it's job. All my Cold Medicines that I have expired in 2019. I went to work on Saturday with a mask on and had hand sanitary in my cart to keep my hands clean. Also found some boxes of Kleenex and put one in the FM office. I was using paper towels before as there wasn't anything else to blow one's nose in. I will go in on Monday wearing my Mask and staying clear of everyone else. Then go home and keep medicating myself.
Ever have the color on your Television set change? It's very dark and there isn't much color. I went and tried to change the colors have more red . Need to talk to the boys, possibly need to buy a new TV set.
Need to get some tidying done. Hope everyone is warm and Safe!
Hugs Kathy

Woke up this morning to my house freezing. My heatpump quit functioning. I panicked and freaked right out. It was 50 something degrees inside our home. Poor Arthur was freaking out too. I googled and did everything I could but nothing worked. I called the furnace people and she told me to put in on emergency heat. I was like what? So I did that, it started warming up but it took almost 4 hours to go from 55 to 70 degrees. When it warmed up outside I put it back on heat pump mode and it seems to be working. I guess it got too cold last night for my heat pump to work properly. Thank God I left water running so my pipes woudnt freeze. Tonight before I go to bed I will put it on emergency heat. I dont want what happened last night to ever happen again. Have I mentioned how much I really hate winter?
I had a turkey roast, whatever that is, in the freezer so I am baking that. Any extra heat is welcome. Unfortunately I got cold and I cant warm up.
I hope everyone else is staying warm.

Tonight my dog had his head laying in my lap. I sneezed and he looks at me for a minute and then he starts making sneezing noises. I laughed way too much. I am used to my bird copying me but not my dog.
We went and played at the church for a while today. By the time we left my fingers were so cold they hurt so bad.
I will be so glad when winter is over. I absolutely hate it.

While we haven’t had snow…so far…it has been really, really cold, today it warmed up to 36 this morning and it actually feels warm. Our hummers have been busy at their feeders and the other birds have been chowing down the seed in the feeder and the suet. Our little birds are busy but pretty quiet; however, the woodpeckers are a noisy crew. Occasionally they are joined by equally noisy flickers. I would love to know what they are talking about because they certainly have a lot to say.
Classes are over for me for a few weeks, and I am enjoying the break and only occasionally wondering what I am going to prepare for handouts. My Write Your Life Story class has been around for decades and it’s not easy to come up with something that the long-time students haven’t read about before, but I keep looking.
As our family grows and changes the holidays change too. New family traditions are being established and some of the old ones are adapting. This year, for the first time for me, we will celebrate our family Christmas on Christmas Eve because members of the family have other plans for Christmas Day. I have discovered that it really doesn’t matter what day the family gets together, I always look forward to it and enjoy it.
Slowly, but surely, I am working my way through my folks World War II letters. It costs quite a bit to have them digitized so I am doing them in batches by date. Right now, I have been working mainly with my dad’s letters and there are lots of them. With all the different ways we have to communicate now it’s easy to forget that letters and the telephone were the main means of keeping in touch with people not all that long ago. Perhaps in the future those letters will provide interesting information for the family. I am not quite finished with Christmas shopping and getting out the cards and letters I want to write. I love getting the annual Christmas letters and catching up on what friends and family are doing. Time seems fly, and I can’t believe that another year is almost over. Take care, Judy

I tested Positive for Covid 19 on Thursday. I tried to go see my Dr. as I had a cough and I thought I had a sinus infection. I had to go get tested and never did get in to see my Dr. I didn't get a free test I had to pay the Pharmacy $20.00 to get the test which resulted in being Positive. I am off work til Dec 27. Work 3 days then work Jan 2,3,4,5. I have to phone the Union to find out about my pay cheque.
I've had a fever and a cough and my nose is running. I have to run the test and see what the results are. No fun being sick!
I phoned and found out I have short term disability. The HR department is going to find out why my Sunlife card doesn't work. I have got people working on my claim so hopefully it comes together.
It's cold here! it's warmed up a few degrees to -29C it feels like -42C doesn't matter it's cold outside!
Hugs Kathy

Kathy, so sorry you got Covid. It is surging again around here and with RSV and Covid the hospitals are full. People are being advised to wear masks again. A few of my friends have tested positive, but fortunately, while they don't feel good they have not been really sick. The problem has been for some that they have tested positive for several weeks after they are better. They have been advised to wear masks until they test negative.
Teresa and I have decided we aren't very happy with winter. It has been COLD here, too. Colder for Teresa who is in the mountains, but surprisingly quite cold for those of us who live in the valley where the temps are usually milder and may be cold at night but usually warm up during the days. Snow is predicted for Thursday, I am hoping the weather forecasters are wrong!
Take care and get well, Judy
