Am trying to pay my bills. The amount that the invoice says is not what my VISA bill is saying. That's what happens when one's bill is in Canadian Funds and the Invoice is in USD funds. One has to add the exchange rate. On my bill the exchange rate is around 1.37274 %. when I bought some USD cash at the exchange place it was 1.40 % at the bank it was cheaper. I had all this money in my purse but when my luggage and cabin were packed up it just got lumped together and when I got home I found it. So my extra money I had for my cabin attendant is still in my purse. I am trying to pay my credit card off and put together the invoices that I received so I can put a claim in. It's getting to be a lot of money. The blood thinners that I bought for 5 days was $140.00 USD. My 6 month supply if I had to pay for them was $85.00 CDN. I got them through my Health Plan and they were no charge. Figure that one out.
I am trying to go for a walk every day. Yesterday I walked 4,374 steps, so far today I'm only at 631. have a few steps to get in.
haven't talked to my sister and she hasn't contacted me. I don't want to get a lecture is the main reason why.
My girlfriend says she's got thyroid Cancer but it's nothing to worry about....
There's a fire near Pemberton but it's a valley away. That doesn't sound good but he said it's quite a distance.
That's all my interesting news.
Hugs Kathy

Kathy, I can't imagine trying to figure out USD and Canadian rates so you can pay your bills. I am definitely mathematically challenged. I got a form today to fill out for the ambulance ride I was lucky(?) to take in Arizona. I am really hoping that my insurance will cover it.
I went to a quilt show Saturday. There were so many beautiful and amazing quilts. This show is a yearly event and very well done. I was so pleased that I got to go, it's been many years since I went to the last one.
My daughter, Kylee and her husband, Dan are coming on Thursday for a week. It's the first time that Dan has been back since they moved a couple of years ago. Kylee has been "home" a few times so she will be spending time not only with our family, but also with Dan's.
Jim has surgery on the 17th to "fix" the other carotid artery. I hope it goes as well as the first.
That's my news. Except...I wish it would cool down.
Take care, Judy

It's been cooling off during the evenings and nights. Then to the mid twenties during the day. When I get up I get dressed and then it warms up and I'm over dressed.
The maintenance guy on the Condo Board needs the water meter numbers from my unit. I have the shut off valves for both units. I sent him pictures but they didn't inline with the numbers that he needed so he came over and took his own pictures. He seems to think that my humifier is running water all the time and that could be why it says I have water running which he thought was a leaking toilet or faucet which I don't have. To get a plumber out is way out of my budget for the next 6 months.
I am eating constantly and am trying to eat properly. 2 weeks ago I wasn't hungry and now I can't seem to fill up! Any suggestions?
Still haven't got all my paperwork done. I have some more printed off but still have to print off the forms.
Do you have much smoke? Here it comes and goes. There are so many fires in BC and Alberta that it all depends on which way the wind is blowing.
Hope everyone is doing great!
Hugs Kathy

Wow! We're closing in on the end of August, and my summer list doesn't have much crossed off.
Jim's surgery went well and he is recovering quickly. What a relief that it is over and with positive results.
My Write Your Life Story class had their last summer get together on Friday. That group was one of the joys of my summer. I always enjoy my class, but the more relaxed time together was such fun and of course there were fewer of us. The regular class will begin again at the end of September.
On September 8th I'm going to Tennessee to visit my friend Sue. Years ago when she lived here we attended the quilt guild together and worked on a quilt for the very first guild challenge. After Sue left she helped me with my challenge quilts. I often got to visit her when I went to see my Aunt Lucetta in Kentucky. It's no surprise that she is going to help me with a pattern for this year's challenge. The inspiration is the papercut Sue did of our farmhouse for my mom's memorial service. I had it framed and it hangs in our bedroom. She is an amazing artist and so creative.
Teresa I really enjoy your FB posts. I had hoped to get over your way, but it looks as if it's not going to happen.
Kathy, I've been reading about your fires. I know the smoke can be bad; I'll never forget the few days a couple of years ago when the air was either yellow or red/orange. It was awful! We have had some smoke, but for me it hasn't been too bad. It really seems to depend on where one lives or whether we get a good sea breeze in the afternoon.
Thinking of you both, take care, Judy

I started posting awhile ago and then I lost it. Bad excuse, I know.
Still haven't got my claim in but am still working on it. I really do need to get it done as a lot of money is involved and it would make my life possibly easier. Still on short term disability but I believe it will end in the next 2 weeks. or hopefully.
If you go on the internet and look up the fires on the north shore around Anglemont, BC. That's where the Lake House was/is. He sold it a couple of years ago and really didn't say to much to the boys about it before he sold it. Anyways, the forest fire is in that area. It's on the Shuswap Lake around Magna Bay, Celesta, and Scotch Creek. If, and when I get some money I will donate to their relief funds. The whole town of Scotch Creek is burnt to the ground. The pictures are just shocking! I talked to our old neighbor that lived next door and he sold his place last June so he was saying some of the residences had sold, but a few were still holding on. So I really don't know if the house burnt or not.
The weather has cooled off. We are in single digits. If it gets to the mid teens then we think we have a heat wave.
I go for my final tests I believe on Monday. This one is to see what's going on in my stomach. I guess they will look at the surgery too. Have no real idea. I will be a sleep so they can do all their looking and it won't really bother me. Hopefully they don 't find anything that's not suppose to be there. I phoned a few people and got the run around. So I went to Stan's place and brought him chocolate Mint Girl Guide Cookies and asked him to take me for this test. he finally committed to doing it and will take me. So I sent my niece who I hadn't had a confirmation that I had a ride. A girl in the Condo said she'd do it but was handicapped would do it. So I went to her place yesterday and told her thank you but I got a ride and gave her some Notepaper that I was given for short notes. She seems to me that kind of a person.
My cardiologist exercise tests came back normal. I am suppose to take the Blood thinners til January. Unless they change that. Blood pressure is low like usual. 129/71 102/71 129/76 My mammogram came back normal.
I have to tidy up my place because a male friend is probably coming by tomorrow or Saturday. I went out with him a few years ago but his daughters got in the way and so did life and COVID.
So that's what's happening in my world. Not much.
Hope everyone is doing better!
Hugs Kathy

I really miss our threat. I think perhaps Ginny was the glue that held our group together. Kathy I see you check out Teresa's FB as I do. Sadly, now I don't check the thread very often. I think of all the years that we have posted and shared our lives. That is something I will never do on FB.
Kathy, I hope you are getting the answers you need about your health issues. It is always so difficult when we don't know what's wrong or have to wait for answers. Right now my husband and I are going through that with some issues he is having, and it's frustrating. We have another appointment on Monday which I hope will offer Jim some options.
Our children and grandchildren are all doing well. Our youngest just started community college. I just can't believe how quickly the years have passed and continue to slip by quickly.
I still love to facilitate my Write Your Life Story class. The stories are wonderful, but I still struggle finding information for the weekly handouts. This term I'm also taking a hand stitching class and really enjoying it. I plan to continue taking it next term.
Teresa, I love your Chibs FB posts. What a wonderful dog/friend he has turned out to be.
Please keep in touch. Kathy, I don't think I have your address, but if you would like to share it, I would like to have it.
Best wishes to you both, Teresa and Kathy. Take care , Judy
