Well I only lost .2 of a pound last week but considering I pretty much lived off potato soup and what not that was not point friendly I call it a crazy cool win.
I am washing my bedding, which just rocked chibs world, he was freaking out as to why I was taking everything off our bed. Then the machine went off balance and knocking around and he lost his mind. Took off through the house barking trying to find the knocking. When he realized it was coming from the washing machine he turned and ran as fast as he could in the other direction. Now he side eyes it when we go outside.

Teresa. I think Chibs provides you with lots of entertainment. He is such a cutie, especially with one pointed ear and one floppy one.
My goal this afternoon is to actually do something! I procrastinated all weekend, and just did what absolutely needed to be done. Perhaps I have spring/summer fever...our weather has been really lovely and the lilacs and fruit trees are beautiful. This is a lovely time of year.
I am meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow. We are going to a really nice garden store. They have a patio where we can eat our sack lunches. I do not remember the last time we've been together, but now that we are both fully vaccinated we are feeling a little more adventurous.
Tonight is Round Robin and I'll get my next quilt to work on. We draw numbers for choosing our next project so I'm hoping my number is high enough that I have actually have a choice. After we choose our quilts we have two months until our next meeting to work on them.
Time to do something. (!) Take care, Judy

Off to the Coast tomorrow for a three-day weekend with my friend who is 14 days past her second shot and ready to take a chance getting out a bit. Because of underlying problems she has basically been quarantining for over a year and a half. We have gotten a place at a nice inn on the beach so even though rain is predicted we can watch the ocean and listen to the waves.
The weather has been so beautiful, but rain is expected tomorrow. As much as I wish it would stay sunny, I know we need the rain.
Hope everyone is doing well. Take care, Judy

Haven't made a decision yet on the furnace. I've a few companies in and the quotes are anywhere from $5,000 to $12,000. I really hate decision making. At least the last company showed me how to reset the furnace so it will come on. All the other characters just said reset set it when the light is flashing. Which is totally useless when one doesn't know the sequence to follow. which is press the reset button, turn it off completely for 90 seconds and then turn it back one. Simple enough to do but when no one shows you or explains what to do it's a big deal!
We've had colder weather the last week. It has snowed a few times and the temperature is sitting at the minus level. I have a couple of space heaters but when I go out I turn them off. Don't feel comfortable in leaving them unattended.
The Province of BC has issued a no travel ban. So that means that because I live in Alberta I am not to travel to BC or face the fine of $350. plus. There are so many cases being announced that it's scary. They have also discontinued flights from India and those countries close by. There are so many various Covid 19 varieties that it's got to the point they aren't annoucing the variances any more. I have turned off the TV news and stopped the paper. It's so depressing!
So I guess my trip to BC to see Miles on his 1ST Birthday is a no go! I think I will buy a cake and celebrate without them and enjoy the cake and the memories. Maybe zoom them or facetime.
I talked to my other son while he was grocery shopping and fixing his bike. Killed a lot of the day. He was saying at the grocery store he was at that Butter was $7.00. He said that he couldn't believe how much things have gone up in a year! I said butter here is about $4.99 and goes on sale for $3.99. I asked if he was sure it wasn't organic and said no.
I'm going to print off my quotes and deal with that issue. Also got a cash refund from my Car and Condo insurance. I forgot to accept it and I believe todays the last day. Need to get my tax papers printed and taken to the Accountant too.
Judy hope your trip with your friend has warm sunny weather!
Hugs Kathy

I went for my yearly monogram yesterday. I can't believe how much it hurt! The technician wasn't very compassionate. I felt her attitude was suck it up! She said it was the same compression as last time. But this time it hurt. I felt really sore right up to my breast bones. The ache lasted for a couple of hours. It's still sore like I did a heavy work out using those muscles. which I don't think one does. The booking agent for the test said that they were not booking test for people who've had their COVID shots for 5-6 weeks after. So if you need to have this done, please wait at least 6 weeks before you have the tests and make sure the person is compassionate.
I was talking to my sister and she said that having technicians that didn't seem to care about one's feelings made her make her choice of no longer having to have this test done.
Hope everyone has had their first shots and awaiting for their 2nd!
Hugs Kathy

Brody got his second shot yesterday and today he is pretty sick, he feels miserable. I think he assumed that since I didnt really get sick and was fine the next day he would be too. I feel kind of guilty. I hope his doesnt last long, he is so miserable and I can hear him in his bedroom moaning and saying why? My sister and Cedar both got really sick too. My sisters only lasted a day but Cedar says her lasted several days. Who would have thought the woman with oxygen, PH and a hole in her heart would have done the best with the shot? I sure hope my boy feels better soon. I hate seeing him like this.

Teresa, I'm so sorry that Brody has such a bad reaction. However, as difficult as it is, it is certainly better than the alternative. Jim and I were lucky and didn't have anything more than a tender arm for a short time. I won't be abandoning my mask anytime soon, but the world doesn't seem quite as scary as it did before I was vaccinated.
My appliqued turtle quilt came back from the quilter today. Despite the fact that it was definitely a practice quilt for that type of applique I really like how it looks. My quilter did a wonderful job. I am just as pleased with this quilt as I was with Logan's t-shirt quilt. Eventually when I get a photo, I'll send it to you, Teresa, to post.
What a shame Kathy that you had such a jerk for your technician. I have always had good luck even though it is definitely not my favorite thing to do.
Terri and I had a wonderful time at the coast. The weather on Saturday was rain and lots of wind, but Sunday and Monday it was sunny and windy. It's almost always windy at the coast, but the sun was great. And in spite of the wind we got in a couple walks. We had a nice room and could look out our window any time at the ocean. Almost all the restaurants were reservation only so we ate takeout from the restaurants. That really wasn't bad. We had a nice set up in our room and we enjoyed all the catching up we were doing after a year and a half of only talking on the phone and texting with occasional Facebook posts.
Guess I'd better go do the dishes. Knowing that I'm not getting up tomorrow morning to go exercise always makes me lazy Friday evening.
Take care, Judy

Teresa, I can’t believe how well you have done with your weight loss. Wish I could say the same for myself. I’m going to probably have to see my doctor soon, when my Rx’s run out. She will not be happy with me this time, and I’m not happy with me either. Sorry that Brody is having such a hard time with the reaction to the Covid 19 shot. I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone with a really bad reaction. Karen’s arm was really sore for about a week, and I just felt tired for about a week, but that’s about it. Re Chibs I have a little booklet I received from an animal charity on training dogs, and I’d be happy to send it to you, but I need your current address. Email/snail-mail it to me and I’d be happy to send it to you. Kathy, So sorry you had a bad experience with your mammogram. I don’t like going to get any kind of test, but the last time I got mine they had improved the way they did the imagery and it was MUCH briefer and more comfortable. I hope it wasn’t just a fluke! I go to a place where that is all they do, and I like it a lot better than when it was stuck in the middle of a hospital with all kinds of stuff going on. The technicians are always kind, which is just as important as knowing how to get a good picture. Could you look for a new place before you have the next one done? I had my last one done before I got my Covid shot, but thanks for the warning. At one point when I was really irritated at my government, I threatened to move to Canada, but now I think you are having more restrictions than we have—although I haven’t really even traveled from state to state. I watch a bit of news when I think I must, and I no longer get the newspaper, although that is because they were throwing it in the flowers and breaking them. Have you decided on the furnace yet? The guy came out to give me a quote on replacing my deck, with composite type lumber. It is really a lot (somewhere between 20-30 thousand) but it really needs it.
Judy, I’m glad you like your new quilter, especially since it is a major hobby for you. I’d like to see it when you get done. Glad you had a great time at the coast, even if you didn’t get into a restaurant. I think I’d like it better the way you finally did it anyway.
Take care all, Hugs, Ginny

I went and supposedly got all the results from my tests last week. She said I didn't have to have a pap test as a don't have a Cervic but I said I wanted to make sure everything was okay down there. Yesterday her office called and she wants to have a phone consultation Wednesday. Scary. I have a Zoom meeting with the osteoporosis clinic mid May.
The Covid-19 provincial results are the highest in Canada. People won't listen and people are getting discouraged. There is a minister from Edmonton that won't listen and was charged. He won't listen to the mask rules and feels that he is beyond the law. I really hope that they throw the laws at him. Follow the rules, wash your hands and keep one's distance. That's all that one can wish for.
I'm trying to follow the rules but it really gets depressing. Am going to get a small cake from the bakery decorated with Miles' name on it and who ever wants to have some can met me on my lower deck for cake and wine! No traveling for me.
Need to make a decision on the furnace and I guess that will be this week.
Hope everyone is having a good week!
Hugs Kathy

Kathy, all the restrictions do get discouraging. Some Oregon counties got restrictions again when they were labeled Extreme Risk. Fortunately, Benton County wasn't one of them. The decisions are mainly made by how many people are hospitalized and when the numbers start going up the governor announces the restrictions. Many people are upset with her, but I can't help but think as much as we might not like what is happening it is a whole lot better to be safe than sorry. In Corvallis the City Council is allowing the set up of outdoor dining for restaurants and coffee shops. In many instance that means blocking off several parking spaces. This would never happen under normal circumstances, but there is nothing normal about this time.
It's only Tuesday and I already feel as if it's a busy week. Today I'm doing all the stuff I would normally do on Monday because yesterday I went to visit a friend in Mt. Angel which is about an hour away from Corvallis. She is moving to Sparks, NV (near Reno) to be with her daughter. It was a big decision for her, but I think it is a good decision for her. I took her some boxes. We didn't get together that often, but at least we could. Of course, we will keep in touch via good old email.
Tomorrow is meeting day for Women's Fellowship and Altrusa. Our program for Altrusa is going to be about the little robots that deliver things, mostly food, all over OSU campus. It is funny to see them tooling along the street. The other day I was ready to turn onto a street and saw that the robot had the right away. I sat there for a bit with my blinker on and the robot didn't move so I turned. I'll have to ask about the rules of the road for robots at the meeting.
Class tonight and I hope I don't end up with a lot more revisions. I'm always glad when I can call a story--DONE!
Time to get back to my to-do list. Take care, Judy
