Teresa I bought it! It's sitting on the couch looking at me. I guess it will be a new toy. Do I need parchment paper to use with it? I saw a recipe and it said to out parchment paper in the bottom. Also got a bag of frozen potatoes free with the purchase.
Haven't done much all week except sleep and eat. Today is my day off and I am planning on putting more stuff away. So far have 2 bags of garbage and 2 boxes of paper to be recycled.
I fell on Wednesday going to work. I think I tripped and down I went on my left knee. Didn't spill my coffee but my knee sure hurt. It was in the garage and I fell against the car. Possibly a good thing the car was there or I would really landed a lot harder. I looked at it yesterday & there was a small white spot on the passenger door, I don't see anything on the coffee mug so the white must of came from something else. Looked at the knee and I guess it's swollen but don't really see any bruising. It sure hurt on Wednesday night. Glad I had a shopping cart to hold on to as sometimes it felt that my leg was giving out. Went home and put my leg up, put some Voltaren cream and have taken a few Tylenol Muscle & Body caplets. Feeling better still kind of stiff but each day is better.
Went Black Friday shopping and bought a pair of sandals, long sleeve T-shirt and a green puffer jacket. Everything was at least 50% off at Eddie Bauer. The sandals I've been eyeing since I decided to go to Mexico and got finally got them. I feel like I should put the stuff that I bought into my suitcase so I won't forget it. I bought some new tops while on the island.
I realize why my friend calls the dog ridiculous names. Goes outside to pee and comes on to the deck and does her business. Does her business on the kitchen floor while we were out for just under 2 hours. Good thing the baby gates were up to keep her out of the living room and dinning room carpets. She's an old dog but her parents love her. Can't say the same for my friend.
I hope you all had a Safe and Wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hugs Kathy

Kathy if you use parchment paper you need the air fryer kind that has a bunch of holes. The air needs to circulate. You will need olive oil cooking spray. for the basket and for the top of certain foods. You will love it.

Teresa I will look at work today for Parchment paper with holes, will also put olive oil cooking spray on my list for buying.
I looked at my knee today and it has a huge yellow bruise on it.
Have mostly spent the day on the couch watching Christmas movies. That doesn't move the stuff that needs to be put away. somehow it doesn't move itself. So have to get off the couch and move that stuff!
Thank you for your advise on the Air Fryer!
Hugs Kathy

The appliance I am buying is a new toaster...actually I have quite a list...
Today is an errand day. I have things for the Drop-in Center (for the houseless), one of my friends is the director, books for a little library, and clothes to drop off for the Altrusa Clothes Closet. Then I am going to get new scales, mine is dying, and a new pair of kitchen shears, my old ones weren't in great shape and today they broke in two! Oh yes, a new toaster is on the list, too--another appliance that has become very crotchety.
We had a very nice Thanksgiving Day with all the usual menu. Bryn's family was all there except for Garrett who lives in Wisconsin. The food was delicious, but there was not a vegetable in sight, and carbs were in abundance. It made me smile. I am working hard to get back on track and lose the Thanksgiving pounds. My monthly weigh-in is on Saturday so I am striving to be with my goal range.
My Write Your Life Story class is over until January, but I have two more of my writing classes. December is going to be a busy month. I send ornaments to my grandkids and I have them already, but I need to get everything sorted and pack the things that need to be sent. I would like to make some pillowcases, but I'm not sure if that will happen before Christmas.
Kathy hope your knee feels better. Enjoy your new air fryer.
Take care everyone, Judy

It's 33F here. There is snow on the grass and roofs. The roads are wetish.
I looked at Safeway and didn't see any parchment paper for air fryers. Haven't used it yet. Have no idea what to cook in it. I guess that's why it probably comes with instructions.
Am still a little stiff. Bruise is turning a pretty yellow. Still sore. Am in the counting house, counting money so I can pay my contractor. I found a few dollars in a purse. So had better get some of it into the bank so I can get it to them.
I wanted to buy a tablet but don't know which one to get. So will keep on looking. Still have a few months til I need it.
Hope your weather is warmer then mine!
Hugs Kathy

Hello everyone, It is COLD and rainy here and the wind is really blowing. I think I have decided Winter is definitely not my favorite season. My outside cat, Spottie, seems to be doing OK, but I’m glad I don’t have to live outside. I do the best I can for him. He has a little Karen-made shelter with a pet heating pad inside. There is an outside tale on the deck for him, with a plastic covering to keep the weather off, and another pet heating pad that his heated pet dish sits on. I had a nice but very small Thanksgiving, just Karen and I and my two friends from church, Mary and Becky. I didn’t feel like cooking so we had a take away from Bob Evans, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, and a pumpkin pie. It was OK, but I think I’m going to try and get up the energy to do it myself for Christmas. I will probably end up with turkey and all the usual suspects, but I’d sort of like to do something nontraditional that I saw on one of the PBS cooking shows: Chicken Paprikash, which is a which is a braised chicken thigh dish.. My dad always used to talk about it when he was reminiscing about his childhood. (My father was from Hungary.) They also showed how to make a noodle dish to go with it, called Spatzle, which looked simple enough. What would you think about going to a Christmas dinner where those, plus maybe a tossed salad were served? I guess I could do it another time, but I don’t entertain except during the holidays any more. Let me know your thoughts, I’d appreciate your thoughts and input. My friend Becky let me know yesterday that they had finally diagnosed her health problems as pancreatic cancer. They still have to do more tests to determine how far along it is, but generally pancreatic cancer isn’t found until it is too late, because it is sort of hidden behind other organs. None of her regular doctors had been able to diagnose it, and it was found by an ER doc. She had gone to the ER after a fall in her home. She has been in so much pain, and even her pain specialist hasn’t been able to keep it under control. So things don’t look good for her. I don’t imagine you remember, but Esther, who was a part of my church friends group, died about a year ago from the same disease. So it’s a small world, as they say, and sort of a scary one.
Sorry I don’t much that is cheery to share, but if you can’t share stuff like this with friends, who can you share it with—and I do consider you all good friends. We’ve shared a lot of tough stuff. Hugs, Ginny

Ginny, I am so sorry about your friend. It really is hard to lose people that are good friends. I still miss my friend, Marlene, I have yet to find another friend that I could call and say..."would you like to go..." and she was ready to join my adventure. We also took a couple of trips together and we had so much fun.
This was one of those weird days. I went to exercise early this morning, and when I came out my steering wheel was locked and the ignition key didn't work. In the end all it took was forcibly turning it to the left to unlock it, but I couldn't do it, so in the end I called AAA and after unsuccessfully trying to unlock the wheel, Jim came and picked me up. I just had time to shower, eat some toast and head for my doctor appointment at 8:30...made it...and got a good report. Headed home because I needed to be in an all day meeting that began at 9:00. I told them I couldn't make it until 10:00 and actually got there just at 10. It WAS an all day meeting with a couple of breaks and time out for lunch. Meanwhile, Jim dealt with the car, it didn't have to be towed after all, but it had to be left parked at the fitness club. The tow truck driver was the one who showed Jim how to unlock the wheel, but we couldn't go pick the car up until after the meeting which ended at 4:15. Jim took me. Meanwhile...my grandson had asked to borrow my car tomorrow so we dropped it off on the way home.
My meeting was important because it was a long time coming and I had to attend so there would be a quorum on my section of the committee. A few years ago I was asked to serve on a Federal Advisory Committee for the Siuslaw National Forest. It is the Forest Service Secure Rural Schools Advisory Committee. The counties associated with Siuslaw are allocated money for projects in or near Forest Service Lands that deal with roads and restoration projects. (I have no idea how that relates to rural schools.) I had been to one meeting during President Obama's term, and during the next administration no funds were made available, so this was only the second meeting I have attended. Because we had not meet in the last four+ years we had to consider 60 projects and the amount of money requested for all the projects was MUCH more than was available so we had to decide which projects should be completely or partly funded. I was very nervous about the meeting, but I read all the proposals and then we had presentations about some of the projects and by afternoon we were ready to do the hard part allocating funds. It went really well because there were a number of people who added additional information and were able to answer questions or clarify information. For a virtual meeting I thought it went very well. Now we probably won't meet again until the summer of 2022. (I'm okay with that. )
Good news! We got a new toaster, and today my new scales arrived. The toaster is okay, and I'll see how I feel about the scales after I use it for awhile .
Guess I'd better wind this up for now. I promised myself I would get to bed early, and soon it will past...early! Take care, Judy
