Last night was my first night with the ASV. Things were rough and even my dog was acting weird from it. I woke up to feeling like it was trying to power wash my lungs and I have not been able to get a deep breath since. I will keep trying it but if I continue to feel like this I am going to call it a wash and go back to my bipap.
The Red Cross people came around wanting to talk about smoke detectors. Chibs told them that was not a good idea. I doubt they will come back.

Our thread has been pretty inactive. I hope everyone is doing okay. Teresa, I hope your new breathing machine is working better for you. And, I hope you told them you do have smoke detectors before Chibs "protected" you.
I've been busy with my class and various other projects. I finished my challenge quilt the day before the challenge. I was please with how it turned out. I wish I was comfortable with machine quilting because it could have used some. So...now it's time for the next challenge. The theme is My Magical Garden. I'm going to visit my artist friend Sue in June after the AGS Conference and I hoping she can help me come up with an idea. We worked on several challenge quilts together before she moved many years ago.
My class is going well. My worries were for naught, none of the things I worried about happened. I am enjoying the class and the student stories. I am looking forward to the summer off.
I have been gathering the stories I have written and saving them to my cloud account, and I am surprised at how many stories I have. They are all different lengths, and I am organizing them in albums which hopefully will make them easier to find. I have also been surprised at the some of computer folders I found them in. I guess those folders made sense at the time.
Today I am giving a tour at the Corvallis Museum for the women's fellowship group from my church. It is only the second time I've done it...thank heaves our education curator gave us a script. One of the rather strange artifacts is an outfit that looks like a robe for the Ku Klux Klan. It is actually a goat suit. William Finley for whom the Finley Wildlife Refuge is named for (It's south of the city.) wore the home made goat suit to film mountain goats in the Rocky Mountains. The museum even has an iPad near the suit with some footage of him in the goat suit. I've practiced the script, but I guess I'll just have to keep doing it to become more comfortable.
Time to close, I need to get some lunch before I leave for the museum.
Take care, Judy

Hi all, nothing new to report except it is going to be winter all summer long. One of the court dates is set for next week, I am trying to get out of it. Its for one day and it shouldnt be happening any way, it has nothing to do with why we are being sued in the first place. Its one more way to drag it out and I dont have the money to rent a car and my little car just feels vulnerable. Let me do this on zoom, is what I say.
Where is everyone? Ginny, you need to make a strong comeback here, Kathy you too. We have been friends so long, I would hate for us to lose touch, we have literally seen each other through everything. I love you all and I miss you. Judy, you are the faithful poster, please keep coming back.

Yes, I miss seeing the posts of others, too. I check in almost everyday, and when I see that no one has posted, I feel strange posting again. I have managed to keep busy this last week.
I FINALLY decided to start going through my "to be sorted" boxes of papers. Bryn told me that those were the boxes that she was most concerned about. So I set times during this week and ended up working for several hours. The first box I chose, of course, couldn't be easy. It was family history information I had gathered over the years. For anyone who decides to do the family genealogy it will be very helpful, and it is unlikely this information could be easily gathered. The person who ends up doing the genealogy is probably not going to be me, although I know I would enjoy doing it. Right now, there's no one in the family who is particularly interested, but I have a feeling there will be when my grandchildren get older. I spent some time thinking about how to organize the material, and came up with a plan. When I finish sorting this box, I'm going to write up what is in the box, why I think it is important, and why I saved it. Then, whoever ends up with box can decide what to do with it.
Our weather in the valley has been as crazy as Teresa's although we haven't had a lot of snow. We did have snow early in April--no one could believe it!. March turned out to be our driest month and April our wettest in 25 years. May seems to following the April model. I call the weather bipolar. One minute the sun is shining, the next we are having rain or even hail, and then the sun shines again. Yesterday was really nice, and today we're back to bipolar weather.
My class continues to go well. I will be glad for the summer break. Today we had a Zoom get together for three students who didn't get into this term's class. There were only seven in our Winter Term class and we got really close. Often only the three who didn't get into the in-person class come to our Zoom meeting, and they appreciate getting together. It was fun to talk to those who were able to make it. I've been trying to schedule a get together every two weeks. We plan to have a picnic at one of my student's homes in June. We are hoping we'll have a warm day. June is often rainy, maybe this year we're getting the rain in April and May.
Teresa, I've been meaning to ask you how the ASV is working.
While I am enjoying the longer days, I seem to have lost my evenings. It stays light so long before I know it, it's time to get ready for bed!
Time to close, I need to go feed the Hungry Birds before it does get dar,, what a bunch of piggies!
Take care, Judy

Judy, at first I thought it was going to kill me and then I settled in with it nicely and my events went way down which is a miracle. After about a week though, my body will find a way to not breathe so my events are going back up. We will see what happens, stubborn body.
I bought a couple of personal watermelons for me and Brody. The one I cut tonight, the rind was so tough, I about needed a chainsaw to get through it. The watermelon itself is a nice red and has good flavor but that rind didnt want to give. I am lucky I have all my fingers.

Teresa, I sure wish it would continue to help. Another question, the things you post on FB look absolutely delicious. If you were closer, I'd hire you as my chef! I remember you changed to a different, but similar program to WW. How is that working? If I were a little more consistent about my points I would probably go down more quickly than I have been, but my weigh in the last two months have been within the 2 lbs. of my goal so I haven't had to pay. So far I've just had to pay twice since May of 2020. If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride, and I keep wishing that I'd be consistent long enough to lose another three to five pounds.
Take care, Judy

Judy, I switched to Healthi (formerly itrack bites) I did start the paid version ($29 for the year) I chose the better balance program and it is almost identical to WW blue. It would work fine if I woud stay on track but I keep slacking off. I start out good and by 9 pm at night I am searching cupboards and grazing.

Well, we do have to be in Merrill next week but my attorney said that since I am on oxygen and have so much to pack with me to breathe that I can be present in court on the phone. That certainly works for me. But my sister will be coming through from Spokane on her way down so I need to get my place cleaned up a little better.
We played at the church for 2 hours today, I am surprised I stayed that long since I had a little rough of a night.
I cant find anything good to watch so I dug out my dvd player and am rewatching North and South miniseries. I love the miniseries that they use to have on tv.

It's Sunday and only 56 F but sure feels hot! I went outside and took most or all of the dead plants in my front gardens. I pulled weeds and cut all the dead stuff. Then I swept up my mess. I thought I didn't have time to take it to the garbage so it's in the garage. I watered the plants and emptied all the planters that have been broken into the garden and will recycle them.
My sister is here visiting, She had a 50 year reunion for her Nursing School at a hotel. She left Friday afternoon and is suppose to be coming anytime so we can meet my cousin for supper. She's visiting our Brother in law in the far north part of the city right now.
I have an appointment with the eye specialist tomorrow morning. I suppose to have a blocked tear duct but goodness knows what's going on with the eye. Since I had cataract surgery this particular eye has been the eye that has problems if one is going to have issues.
I bought an iPad and it came yesterday now to figure out how to load it with everything and get it working. My laptop is from 2012 and I think it's having some kind of maturity problems. Probably old!
I guess I will have to buy a new printer as the one I have couldn't be upgraded to Windows 10 and I know it can't be loaded to the iPad.
Miles had his 2nd Birthday. Boy, is he getting big! He goes to DayCare with his Dad in the mornings as it's in Whistler.
No use complaining about the cost of anything. Things just get more costly. When one sees stuff that one uses on sale and can afford to buy it then one does. I was going to go to the stores that had watermelon on for $5.99 but never got there. My store was/is charging $11.99.
I got my taxes in on time. Now to pay what I owe and figure out how I can manage to pay more yearly so I don't have such a high figure to pay at the end of the year.
I am going to see the new Maverick moving on May 29. Just have to figure who I'm going to ask to go with me? I went to Fantastic Beasts with my cousin. Her daughter is expecting a baby some time in June. She figures that best thing to do is, be in Edmonton the beginning of June just encase the Baby decides to come anytime. Then she will stay in Edmonton for awhile and help out with the 2 older sisters of the baby ? It's a surprise?
Teresa I'm glad they are allowing you to be there by phone or facetime or zoom. It sure makes your life easier. Is your sister coming thru your town?
I bought a filter for my furnace. When I took it out of the box the edges are different then the one that's in it. Amazon says it's the same but I'm not sure? Who do I ask if it will work?
My girlfriend and her sister just had their 2nd booster shots in Montreal.
My sister just phoned and she's on her way. Takes about 1/2 hour to cross town.
Hope everyone is healthy and wise!
Hugs Kathy

Hi Kathy, I am not sure what kind of furnace you have but does the filter fit?
My sister will pass through but she is in a time crunch to get to K-falls, court is tomorrow at 9 and she has to meet and confer with our attorney today. We will see if court actually happens, I keep saying someones attorney needs to finally demand a dismissal.
At the church yesterday my dog plowed into my shin with his head at a full run. It was instant crazy pain, now my shin has a baseball sized lump and is horrible colors and so very painful. I have kept it iced and elevated but I am trying to move to because I dont want a blood clot to form, along with the bruises looks like blood blisters.
Have a good week, Kathy so happy to see you post. Have a good visit with your sister.

Teresa, I am so happy to hear you don't have to make the trip. I does seem as if it's time for someone to end this never-ending drama. I am so sorry that your exuberant dog wounded you. From your description it sounds as if you are doing everything you can to make sure it will heal.
Kathy, it's good to hear from you. You sound busy as usual. It is true that our "littles" do not stay little very long. My "littles" are no longer little, my face now hits them in their chests when I get a hug. I look at the their photos from what seems like just a few years ago, and it's difficult to believe they are now adults.
The flowers are so wonderful this time of year. The daffodils are gone and the lilacs are going, but the iris are beginning to bloom and the peony is not far behind. I have both Japanese iris and the regular iris. I love how delicate the Japanese iris are, but the regular iris are so showy. The hanging baskets my sister got for me are doing well. We've had so much rain I haven't had to water...yet.
I am going to try to get to bed earlier tonight so I'll close for now.
Take care...Judy

Well, the sinister siblings tried to get court delayed today, but the judge made it happen. We offered a settlement, they rejected it, we offered another one and they accepted but then my nephew rejected it and now we are back to nothing. I am so angry.

Teresa, I am so sorry that you have to put up with this family drama. I know it's been hard for the "reasonable" folks, too. I'm glad you didn't have to make the trip, but could be there virtually. The pandemic has brought a few good things to our world.
Today I went with my quilt group to a small woolen mill. Our tour was very interesting as we learned how the wool is process and spun into yarn. I used to knit, but I don't anymore...I'd rather work on my quilt projects.
We had a gorgeous sunny day that was warm enough to really enjoy being outside. After we did the tour we went to a park in a small town to eat our lunches. The park was beautiful, very well maintained.
Just thought I'd check in and say, hello. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Take care, Judy

Judy, now they are saying we will have another court date June 9th to try a settlement again and this time we all have to be there. So I will be going down in a couple of weeks and if that doesnt work then I think we go down for a week in August for the actual court thing. Who knows, I may be living under the bridge by safeway by then.
I went to bed last night and woke up this morning feeling like I was having a heart attack and I couldnt breathe, my first thought was this damn machine is going to kill me, then I realized I never put it on. I slept with no machine and no oxygen last night. That was a bonehead move.
One of Chibs buddies at the Church, a little mini schnauzer named Fella, is having a birthday party at the church tomorrow. They are bring pup pie for the dogs to celebrate with Fella. Sounds fun. I would rather attend a dog birthday party than a kids.
